Air-Textured Yarn (ATY)

ATY (Air-textured yarn) and is made from POY (Partially Oriented Yarn), its primary raw material. Air textured yarn is very bulky and has permanent crimps and loops. Interlacing of filaments in the jet can make the loops to get locked into the yarn, so twisting them is unnecessary. The important characteristics of air jet textured yarns include loop frequency, loop dimensions, loop stability and physical bulk. ATY is a yarn with multiple small loops, which give it a unique feel and look. They can be used in a wide range of fabrics including simple lightweight scrim to very heavy-duty soft luggage fabrics, and lightweight swim wear to heavy weight.
Our Air Textured Yarn is made of 100 percent polyester.

Drawn Texturized Yarn (DTY)  

By processing Polyester POY, Polyester Drawn Textured Yarn is manufactured. Once the POY yarn is produced, it is then sent for Texturing process to render various kinds of effects on the yarn which include crimp, bulkiness, crease, etc. Hot drawing, twisting, thermosetting, and de-twisting are all used to give the yarn texture.  The final product of POY passes through Draw Textured; draw Tension & Draw warping processes respectively.

DTY yarn is mainly used in weaving and knitting of fabrics for making clothes, home furnishings, seat covers, bags and many other uses. DTY yarn can be semi-dull, bright, or trilobal bright, depending on the type of section of filaments.

• ATY has zillions of tiny loops that give it a distinct feel and appearance, whereas DTY has no loops at all. -The loops in ATY contribute to the fabric’s bulk and loft, but in DTY, every filament has an equal crimp.
